Music Ministry

Though we are not a large congregation, we have a wonderful music ministry that undergirds worship and helps make it a positive and meaningful experience for everyone. Presently, our chancel choir is our only active musical ensemble. However, it's our hope to get our other groups up and going again in the near future. The following are our musical ensembles.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is open to adults and high school students. Rehearsals are on Sunday morning's at 9:30 a.m. in the choir room (down stairs). We Sing every Sunday from mid-September through mid-June.

Volunteer Choir

This is our summer choir, and is comprised of anyone who happens to be worshipping that morning! Our Volunteer Choir is a long-standing tradition of The Church of the Straits, mostly due to the fact that on any given Sunday during the summer our attendance nearly quadruples, and we're filled with wonderful singers from all around who just happen to be present! Typically, they are invited to come forward and sing a well-known hymn as the anthem. It goes without saying that this choir is open to everyone.

Hand bell Choir

We have a three-octave set of hand bells, which have seen regular use in the past. Unfortunately, right now we do not have a hand bell choir. However, this is something we're working on to get reestablished soon.

If you have any questions or thoughts about our music ministry, please direct your communication to our choir director. You may send an email to her via the church or by calling the church and leaving a message for her.
